Global Origination Workshop on Science and Design Integration to Make Coastal Cities More Attractive
This workshop aims to ignite creative thinking and inspire sustainable solutions by integrating principles of nature, design, and humanism. Through expert lectures, hands-on activities, and networking opportunities, participants will delve into Gaudí’s origination methodology, exploring its relevance in addressing modern challenges in science and design.
Event Objectives
- Foster creative thinking by exploring Gaudí’s origination methodology and its focus on nature.
- Encourage participants to design sustainability-driven solutions for modern challenges.
- Promote interdisciplinary collaboration among students and professionals in science, design, and architecture.
The Origination Method
At the heart of this workshop lies the Origination Method—a framework inspired by Gaudí’s iterative and organic approach to creation. The Origination Method is an innovative design framework inspired by Antoni Gaudí’s philosophy that “originality means returning to the origins.” Rooted in his values of nature-inspired creativity, functionality, and sustainability, this method provides a clear process for addressing complex challenges with thoughtful solutions.
By focusing on four core principles—Origin, Design, Humanism, and Sustainability—the method guides participants to create designs that are beautiful, functional, and impactful. Tools like Natural Thinking, which draws inspiration from nature, and the Origination Canvas, a visual tool for ideation, help bring ideas to life.
The session aims to provide participants with a general concept of a nature-inspired construction influenced by Gaudi’s philosophy. AI tools will be utilized to transform sketches and ideas into visual representations, offering participants a clearer vision of their concepts.
"Anything created by human beings is already
in the great book of nature."
